Butch & Co. is a proudly gay-owned home improvement team in Columbus. A lot of the people we work with, women and LGBTQ+ homeowners especially, have had the other kind of experience: being talked down to, rushed, overcharged, or just left uneasy about who's in their space.

We built this company to be the opposite of that. We listen first, explain everything in plain language, show up when we say we will, and treat your home, and you, with respect. No mansplaining. No mystery invoices. No pressure.

(And yes, Butch was our rescue dog. The name stuck for more reasons than one.)

ABOUT ADAM

Adam Bowlby is the co-founder of Butch & Co and the steady hand behind every project the company takes on. With decades of experience fixing and remodeling homes, Adam has built a reputation for solving problems with curiosity, craftsmanship, and care. He’s known for being personable and meticulous, the kind of professional who refuses to cut corners. If something isn’t right, he’ll take it back to square one and fix it properly—no matter how long it takes.

That level of diligence starts before the work even begins. Adam is a careful planner who thinks through every possibility so he can show up fully prepared. Clients trust him not only because he delivers results that last, but because he makes the process collaborative and clear. For Adam, every project is about adding value in two ways: strengthening the worth of the home and improving the lives of the people who live there.

Adam and his partner launched Butch & Co to raise the bar for home improvement, bringing reliability, thoughtfulness, and a genuine human touch to every project. To him, it’s about improving homes, relationships, and community. In his downtime, Adam enjoys hanging out with Grizz, indulging his love of cars, and chasing his next sour candy.

Meet Butch

Every company needs a good origin story. Ours has four legs. Butch was the last pup at the shelter the day we found him, calm, thoughtful, and an instant partner.

We named the company after him because he is everything we want to be on a job site: dependable, easygoing, and all heart. He does not swing a hammer, but he sets the tone.
